The Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, had to be admitted to a hospital in Belgrade after interrupting his work visit to the United States due to a sudden medical issue. Vucic was received at the hospital by the Minister of Health, Zlatibor Loncar, and by Dragan Dincic, one of the chief doctors at the Military Medical Academy (MMA).

According to information provided by the president's office, Vucic felt unwell on Friday afternoon, shortly after meeting with U.S. Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, and Serbian-American business representatives. More details about his health condition will be disclosed in the coming days, Tanjug reported.

Upon arriving in Belgrade, Vucic was admitted to the MMA, where the doctors will be attending to him. The presidency confirmed this sudden change of plans and assured that regular updates on the health status of the Serbian president will be provided.
